Data visualization can be traced back the origin of the twentieth century

Data visualization can be traced back the origin of the twentieth century, the early 50's computer graphics. At the time, people use computer graphics to create the first chart. In 1987, by Bruce McCaw Shoemaker (English: Bruce H. McCormick),architectural rendering Thomas de room pedicle (English: Thomas A. DeFanti) and Maxine Brown (English: Maxine D. Brown) prepared by the United States National Science Foundation report "Visualization in Scientific Computing" (meaning "among the visualization of scientific computing"), for this area had a substantial promotion and stimulation. The report highlights among the new computer-based visualization techniques and methods necessary. With the rapid increases in computing power, more and more people to build a large scale, increasing the complexity of the numerical model, which created all kinds of bulky numerical data sets. At the same time, people do not use medical scanners and microscopes like the data acquisition equipment generates large data sets, but also can save the use of text, numeric, and multimedia information, a large database to collect data. Thus, we need advanced computer graphics techniques and methods to process and visualize these large data sets
Phrase "Visualization in Scientific Computing" (meaning "among the scientific computing visualization") later became a "Scientific Visualization" (or "scientific visualization"), while the former refers to as the initial composition of scientific computing part of the visualization: that is, science and engineering practice for the use of computer modeling and simulation. More recent time, visualization is particularly concerned about the growing data, including those from business, finance, administration, digital media and other aspects of large heterogeneous data sets. The early 1990s, it launched a new, architectural rendering known as "information visualization" of research, among many applications designed for the abstract analysis of heterogeneous data sets to support the work. Therefore, at present it is gradually accept this cover both scientific visualization and information visualization of the new term "data visualization"
Since then, data visualization is a constantly evolving in the concept continues to expand its borders; Thus, it is best to be a broad definition. Refers to data visualization is technically more advanced technical methods, and these methods allow the use of graphics technology, image processing, computer vision and user interface, through the expression, modeling and three-dimensional surface, properties, and the animation shows, for visualization of data to be interpreted. And three-dimensional modeling techniques like special methods, data visualization technologies covered a much broader approach
